1. ETL SEMKO is part of Intertek Testing Services LTD., the world's largest product and commodity inspection organization with 240 laboratories and 469 offices in 93 countries in North America, Europe and Asia. ETL SEMKO provides product safety testing and certification, EMC testing, product performance testing, and registration of quality management systems for a variety of industries such as pharmaceuticals, HVAC, appliances, telecommunications, aviation, automation, semiconductors, building materials, and energy generation systems. Any electrical, mechanical or electromechanical product with an ETL inspection mark indicates that it has been tested to meet relevant industry standards. Each industry has different testing standards, so be sure to consult a professional for specific product requirements. ETL inspection mark is widely used in cable products, which indicates that it has passed the relevant test.
2. Like UL and CSA, ETL may issue ETL certification marks in accordance with UL standard or us national standard, or in accordance with UL standard or us national standard and CSA standard or Canadian standard. The "us" at the bottom right is applicable to the United States, and the "c" at the bottom left is applicable to Canada. Both "us" and "c" are applicable to both countries. The ETL mark on any electrical, mechanical or electromechanical product indicates that the product has met the minimum requirements of generally recognized U.S. and Canadian product safety standards and that it has been tested to meet the relevant product safety standards; It also represents the factory's agreement to undergo strict periodic inspections to ensure consistent product quality for the U.S. and Canadian markets. ETL also requires that its manufacturing sites have been inspected, and the applicant agrees to follow up its plant periodically thereafter to ensure that the products always meet this requirement.
Knowledge of ETL certification
In most parts of the United States, the approval of electrical products is mandatory. ETL means ETL Testing Laboratories Inc. ETL's listed products are recognized by Authorities with Jurisdiction and can be considered "approved".
Factory inspection of ETL
Before issuing the certificate, ETL needs to conduct factory inspection, and then it will follow up factory inspection at irregular time every quarter. Besides the factory inspection fee, it also needs to pay the certificate and license fee quarterly. If necessary, inspectors may witness the retest of the product or test it in the laboratory after sampling. Licensees must enter into a legal contract (service agreement) with ETL which clearly defines the responsibilities of the manufacturer and the conditions for the use of successive ETL lists and ETL marks.
ETL certification application
At present, there are two ways to obtain the ETL certificate. One is to pass the CB test report, and the other is to directly apply. The required documents are as follows:
1. The application form
2. Copy of CB test certificate (not required for direct application)
3. Copy of CB test report (not required for direct application)
Samples of 4.
5. Other relevant test results and product data, such as: product manual, photos, component list, etc.
(if a CB report is passed, a difference test is required)
Scope of application for ETL certification
Any electrical, mechanical or electromechanical product with the ETL mark indicates that the product has met the minimum requirements of the generally recognized U.S. and Canadian product safety standards and that it has been tested to meet the relevant product safety standards; It also represents the factory's agreement to undergo strict periodic inspections to ensure consistent product quality for the U.S. and Canadian markets.

ETL certification related content
ETL certification is required for products exported to the United States and Canada. The ETL mark indicates that the product has passed the us NRTL and/or Canadian SCC approved tests. Intertek is one of the few licensing agencies recognized by OSHA and SCC. Our company cooperates with Intertek to represent ETL certification. The ETL mark is recognized to have the same effect as the UL or CSA mark and to comply with the relevant safety standards. Having an ETL flag for a product means that it has met the minimum requirements for product safety standards. In addition, the ETL mark indicates that the manufacturer's production site meets a range of standard requirements and learns to follow up regularly with factory audits to ensure consistency. ETL has been around for more than 100 years. ETL is short for Electrical Testing Labs, which was founded in 1896 by inventor Thomas Edison. ETL stands for innovative, influential, independent and open product testing and rich experience.
