What is NOM



NOM (Normas Oficiales Mexicanas) logo is a mandatory safety symbol for Mexico



Chi, used to indicate that the product meets the relevant NOM criteria. NOM applies to most products, including electricity

Mexico has two verification units available for NOM Mark

-NOM NYCE: validation covers all electronic and information products and data processing equipment except household appliances (except microwave ovens)

-NOM ANCE: the scope of verification covers all appliances and similar products (e.g. household appliances)



- not applicable to IEC standard, applicable to NOM standard



- no EMC testing is required







2. Technical information







- the Mexican voltage is 127V / 60Hz



- the plug is the same as the American plug. One is ClassI with three connectors and the other is



ClassII with two headers. The plug will be tested with the device itself.







Third, the certificate







- the certificate is valid for one year and can be renewed annually



- when renewing the certificate, a product shall be randomly sampled from the market for delivery to the laboratory

Iv. Document requirements



- CB test report and certificate



- name, address and contact of the importer or distributor in Mexico



- test data, drawings, specifications and circuit diagrams



- Spanish label



- original user manual in Spanish



- additional documentation required for a sample importer or distributor



- a copy of the company's authorization letter - a copy of the company's uniform code



- authorization information (PowerofAttorney)



- legal acting official certificate



- letter paper printed with the company name



- photocopy of a registered company with proof of tax payment







Factory inspection

Test samples







One to three test samples (depending on the product).







Vii. Audit time







All documents are submitted 5~6 weeks after the NOM application is completed, the original certificate and report



Will be sent to the local agent in Mexico. The original company will receive a copy of the fax sent by the agent



Keep the original certificate and report as reference for future inspection.
