1. What is COC certification?

COC (Certificate of Conformity) Some countries to ensure the product quality of imports, prevent unsafe, inferior products into the country to endanger the safety of the national health and considering the protection of the environment, requires exporters/importers to entrust a third party inspection prior to shipment of the product testing and inspection on products is conducted by certification bodies, to meet the requirements of the importing country standard products product conformity certificate (COC certificate), the goods before the importer smooth customs clearance, otherwise will not be imported. Failure to provide the COC certificate as required will result in heavy fines at the port of destination. There are many countries in the world for the import of goods to implement and formulate mandatory laws and regulations, the certificate issued in the name of a little different, in fact, it is more or less the same, they can be understood as COC certificate. For example, Nigeria (SONCAP Certificate, SC), Kenya (COC), Tanzania (COC), Botswana (COC), Egypt (Certificate of Inspection), cote d 'ivoire (COC), Ghana (COC), Ethiopia (COC), Saudi Arabia (COC), Algeria (COC), Kuwait (TER); TIR), Uganda (COC), Russia (GOST - R), Qatar (COC), Bangladesh (COC), Iran (COC), etc.

The first step is to provide the materials to the inspection and certification body (such as CCIC) for audit and make an appointment for inspection.

What information needs to be provided, and which country to export to, varies slightly from country to country, but is generally the same. For example: export to Nigeria: power of attorney (the organization provides the template for the customer to fill in), packing list, invoice, test report (what standard is acceptable for the specific test report, how to determine the validity requirement of the report with the organization), FORM M; Export to Kenya: power of attorney (the agency provides the template for the client to fill), packing list, invoice, test report (what standard is acceptable for the specific test report, how to determine the validity requirement of the report with the agency), IDF.

The second step is to arrange inspection/supervision after the audit.

After the production and packaging of the batch of shipped goods is completed, the inspector can go to inspect the goods. In this process, the inspector will check the product packaging, randomly open several boxes to check the products inside, take photos of the background, and send the inspection report back to the company for review.

If there is any rectification opinion, the exporter must make rectification before shipment. If there is no rectification opinion, the draft certificate shall be issued to the exporter for verification. If there is no rectification opinion, the original copy shall be sent to the consignee at the destination port for customs clearance.

Step 3: issue the draft COC certificate, and issue the formal copy after the customer's confirmation.
